Our May 2026 delegation to Belarus was a journey defined by precision planning, meaningful encounters, and landmark achievements. This schedule was carefully tailored to the needs of each participant, ensuring that every visit — whether industrial, cultural, or financial — delivered direct value.

Building Partnerships on the Green

The delegation began with the Belarus Golf Tournament, a refreshing way to blend leisure with business. The relaxed setting allowed participants to connect with Belarusian counterparts in a more personal atmosphere. It was during this tournament that one of the most significant agreements of the trip was signed: a cooperation agreement with Neo Bank (https://belta.by/amp/economics/view/neo-bank-azija-rasshirjaet-mezhdunarodnoe-partnerstvo-s-biznes-soobschestvom-gonkonga-782575-2026/). This milestone highlighted the importance of financial collaboration in supporting industrial and trade initiatives, and the fact that it was sealed in such a unique setting made it all the more memorable.

Industrial Engagements and Kitchenware Focus

Industrial visits remained at the heart of the mission. In Gomel, delegates met with StankoGomel, a leading manufacturer of machine tools, and toured Spartak, one of Belarus’ largest confectionery producers. These visits showcased Belarus’ industrial diversity, from heavy machinery to consumer goods.

This trip also placed greater emphasis on the kitchenware industry, reflecting the growing demand in Hong Kong for practical household products. By engaging with Belarusian producers in this sector, delegates explored opportunities to bring quality kitchenware into Asian markets, strengthening everyday consumer ties alongside industrial cooperation.

Meetings with AVD Production (coffee producers), the Belarusian Light Industry Concern (textiles, clothing, leather goods, and home brand Da Domu), and hospitality companies further broadened the scope of collaboration. Each stop was chosen to match the interests of participants, ensuring relevance and impact.

A Landmark Opening at Great Stone

The highlight of the mission was the opening of the GEEBA liaison office at the Great Stone Industrial Park (Great Stone Strengthens Cooperation with Greater Eastern Europe Business Alliance (GEEBA) — Great Stone). This event marked a historic step in Hong Kong’s presence in Belarus, establishing a permanent base for coordination and cooperation. The ceremony was attended by senior officials, including the Deputy Minister of Industry and directors of major enterprises such as StankoGomel, BZAL, and BELORGSTANKIPROM.

The office opening was more than symbolic — it created a direct channel for Hong Kong companies to engage with Belarusian industry, ensuring smoother collaboration and faster responses to opportunities. It was a defining moment that underscored the delegation’s long‑term vision.

Cultural Balance

Beyond industry, the delegation enjoyed cultural experiences that added depth to the journey. A guided city tour along the river and old town, visits to churches and memorial statues, and a World War II battle reconstruction provided historical context and cultural appreciation. The War Museum further reinforced the resilience and heritage of Belarus, reminding delegates that business partnerships are strengthened by cultural understanding.

Reflections

This mission demonstrated the power of tailored planning. By aligning the schedule with the needs of each participant, every meeting was purposeful and every visit relevant. The agreement with Neo Bank, signed during the golf tournament, and the opening of the GEEBA liaison office at Great Stone were standout achievements, anchoring Hong Kong’s role in Belarus’ industrial and financial landscape.
